For the period TAWASANET managed to achieve the following:

• Increased number of members – from the initial 20 to over 62 across Tanzania.
• Maintaining CSO seats at the sector key meetings – Technical Working Groups; Joint Water Sector Review.
• Increased awareness to community on hand washing with soap and improved toilets during commemorations of global and national events, such as World Toilet Day and Global Handwashing Day including awareness of facilities suitable for those with disabilities.
• Legal and policy influencing – including developing and dissemination of simplified and popular versions of the Water Resources Act of 2009; and National Water Policy (NAWAPO 2002).
• Strengthened discussions on equity issues through preparation and presentation of equity reports.
• Development and demonstration of cost-effective water supply technologies appropriate for rural communities e.g. the rope pumps (as championed by SHIPO in Southern Highlands).
• Maintained networking with international coalition and stakeholders, such as End Water Poverty (EWP), Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSana), Results for Development (R4D), Wash Impact Network, KEWASNET, and UWASNET.
• Coordinating the Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) CSOs focal point for Tanzania through one of our member and the current focal person.
